LEGISLATION APPLYING TO THE SBAS

How are the Laws Made?
The SBA legal system and SBA law are entirely separate from those of the Republic of Cyprus and the United Kingdom. The Administration has its own court system to deal with civil and criminal matters. SBA legislation is enacted by the Administrator. Under Appendix O to the Treaty of Establishment the intention was declared on behalf of the UK Government that :

The laws applicable to the Cypriot population will be as far as possible the same as the laws of the Republic.
