Legislation Indexes
The SBA Legislation Index lists legislation currently in force in the SBAs. It lists the Ordinances (primary legislation) alphabetically and includes with them in separate columns Ordinances that amend them and Public Instruments (secondary legislation) made under them. The United Kingdom Legislation Index lists UK legislation published in the SBA Gazette that applies in the SBAs (whether or not still in force) and provides a hyperlink to legislation enacted after 2002. The Table of Multilateral Treaties is a list of multilateral treaties that apply to the SBAs in accordance with information provided on the FCO website.

SBA Legislation Index
Almost all legislation listed on the SBA legislation index includes a hyperlink to the text of that legislation. The exception is some (but not all) pre-1960 public instruments. In the case of legislation enacted since 1 January 2003 , the link will take you directly to the legislation. In the case of other legislation, there may be more than one piece of legislation in the document so it may be necessary to scroll down to the correct page. There may be a timelag between the enactment of legislation and its inclusion on the Index. The date the Index was last updated is noted at the top of the Index. The SBA Gazette is available in paper form by paying an annual subscription to HQSBAA.

Law from other sources
You should bear in mind that SBA law can also come from other sources. SBA court cases can set precedents (as can UK court cases, where we follow UK law, and decisions of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council). Some UK legislation does not specifically apply to the SBAs or to British Overseas Territories, but may still apply to certain people or objects here (such as some employment, family, military and data protection legislation which covers UK personnel or data abroad).
