SBAs as British Overseas Territories
There are special factors in the law of British Overseas Territories - as territories for whose international relations the UK is responsible under international law - and as the law has developed from former UK colonial law.

Appeals from the Senior Judges ’ Court generally go to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council as the equivalent of the House of Lords in English appeals.

Some UK legislation is made applicable to the SBAs .UK legislation is generally accessible on the website of the Office of Public Sector Information.

The purpose of the SBAs is as military bases - UK Military Law applies to service and related personnel wherever they are in the world .

Original text of British Overseas Territories Act 2002 - the SBAs are the only OT to keep OT citizenship instead of moving to British Citizenship, but the large majority of residents are either UK-military-related or nationals of the Republic of Cyprus.

EU Accession

Special arrangements have been made for the SBAs in the accession of Cyprus to the EU - set out in Protocols to the EU's Treaty of Accession 2003 (or as a pdf file) - see Protocol No 3 on the SBAs and Protocol No 10 on Cyprus.
